The Akure Gunners made the weekend
very exciting after winning a five goal
thriller against the Seasiders while the
Aba Millionaires' ended the run of the
Promise Keepers

SUNSHINE STARS 3-2 WARRI WOLVES
Sunshine Stars emerged victorious in the
five-goal thriller against Warri Wolves at the
Akure Township Stadium on Sunday evening
with Kingsley Eduwo in fine form scoring a
brace and assisting on the other converted
by Dele Olorundare.
Wolves surged into the lead twice in the
match but the Akure Gunners fought back
gamely on each occasion to level
proceedings before the final goal in added-
on time.
It was Sunshine's first win of the season and
it put a little smile on the faces of Henry
Abiodun's side who have had to endure four
straight games without any win.
Sunshine have six points from five games
and still have a game in hand against Giwa
FC while Warri Wolves have seven points
from six ties.
GIWA FC 0-0 ABIA WARRIORS
Giwa FC of Jos are still finding life a little
difficult in the premier league after another
home draw against fellow newcomers, Abia
Warriors at the Rwang Pam Stadium. It was
the club's second successive home draw
after a good start to life with a memorable
1-0 win over Enugu Rangers in their first
ever match in the top flight.
The Abia Warriors goalkeeper was very
outstanding during the match and it was his
saves that denied the home team the wanted
victory including a first half penalty kick he
had to stop to ensure that his side secure a
valuable road point.
Giwa have five points from four matches with
two games at hand while Abia Warriors are
on eight points from five matches with a
game at hand.
KANO PILLARS 3-1 FC TARABA
Sai Masu Gida gave credence to their new
found form with a 3-1 home win over FC
Taraba who have been a revelation of the
sort since the start of the league season.
Gambo Mohammed was among the score
sheets for the home team while Esom
Tochukwu scored FC Taraba's only goal.
Pillars have played their last four games
without a defeat and have risen to nine points
on the log from six games while FC Taraba
are on same number of points as their
victors from same number of matches.
ENYIMBA 1-0 AKWA UNITED
The Peoples Elephant ensured that Akwa
United, the last unbeaten lost their unbeaten
streak at the Enyimba International Stadium
on Sunday.
They thus notched their second home victory
of the season after the victory over Akwa
United in a Glo Premier League Week 6 tie.
The People's Elephant got the solitary goal in
the 14th minute through Abdulrahman Bashir

NASARAWA UNITED 1-0 CROWN FC
The Solid Miners' Abubakar Ibrahim who
shone like million stars at the 2014 African
Nations Championship(CHAN) enhanced his
chances of making the cut to Brazil for the
World Cup with another impressive
performance against the Ajilete Boys in Lafia
on Sunday.
Ibrahim did not only played brilliantly he also
got the sole gone that handed all points to
the home team.
Nasarawa United have eight points from six
matches while Crown have nine from same

GOMBE UNITED 1-0 SHARKS
Haruna Babalo's 80th minute strike from 12

KADUNA UNITED 1-1 HEARTLAND
Heartland got a morale boosting 1-1 draw
away to Kaduna United in one of the two
matches played on Saturday.
The Naze Millionaires have been having an
indifferent season thus far with only four
points to show for their efforts from six
matches thus far. The club had played three
home games with three points secured and
have two out of the three away matches
played.
After early exchanges from both sides
yielded no goal, spectators were bracing up
for a goalless first half before the centre
referee called for a penalty kick after a foul in
the vital area in the 44th minute. It was
coolly converted by current Glo League top
scorer, Isah Aminu who ensured that the
Crocodiles went into half time with a goal up.
It was his fourth goal of the season.
The second half started with the Naze
Millionaires fighting for their lives until
Badaru Shaibou levelled the tie in the 55th
minute. The game ended that way and it
halted Heartland's two match losing streak
away from Owerri and has brought renewed
zeal ahead of their clash with El Kanemi
Warriors at the Dan Anyiam Stadium next
week.
Kaduna United now have seven points from
six matches while Heartland are on four
points.
Meanwhile, Isah Aminu's opener for Kaduna
United lifted him to the top of the goals
scorer's chart after he neeted his fourth goal
of the season against Heartland. He has
overtaken Namso Edo (with three goals).
DOLPHINS 0-0 ENUGU RANGERS
Rangers secured their first away point of the
season in Port Harcourt after they prevented
home team Dolphins from sealing all points
in a goalless draw at the Liberation Stadium.
The Port Harcourt Dwellers came all out to
secure maximum points but were undone by
the fighting spirit of the Flying Antelopes who
were bent on escaping without defeat.
Dolphins, with imminent players' strife owing
to the failure of their financier to pay last
season's signing on fees, didn't come out
forcefully as they ought to. They paid for
their lack of willpower to bag the maximum
points and could only settle for a share of the
spoils in a not too entertaining match.
Rangers now have eight points from six
matches and they will be fired up for their
