Arsenal are in discussions to bring Cesc Fabregas back to the club for £29.2million, according to reports.

Barcelona-based paper Sport claims Arsene Wenger has spoken to Fabregas’ representative Darren Dein to start negotiating the return of the 27-year-old midfielder.

The Gunners are understood to have the right to buy back their former skipper for £29.2m – £800,000 more than what Barca paid for him three years’ ago.

However, Fabregas is keen to wait to discover his role under new manager Luis Enrique before making any decision regarding his future.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Zenit St Petersburg and Manchester City are all monitoring the Spanish international’s availability, but it’s believed he would favour a move back to the Emirates should Wenger decide to sanction a bid.

Fabregas scored 13 goals and made 16 assists in 43 starts for Barca last season.
