The Red Devils parted company with the Scot
last week after a poor run of results had left
the Premier League giants languishing down
in an unfamiliar seventh place in the table
and with no chance of finishing the campaign
in the top four positions, meaning no Uefa
Champions League football at the Theatre of
Dreams next season for the first time since
1995.
And now after several days of face-to-face
negotiations in Van Gaal's holiday home in
Portugal, a deal has finally been reached
between the two parties, with the 62-year-
old all set to put pen to paper on a two-year
contract at Old Trafford, with the option of a
further 12 months on top of that should both
sides agree.
