TRANSFER: Man United after Athletico Koke

Manchester United are considering
obliterating their club transfer record this summer with a monstrous bid for Atletico Madrid's 22-year-old Koke, reports the Independent .
The young Spanish midfielder enjoyed a phenomenal season with Atletico, and played a crucial role in winning Los Rojiblancos La Liga. He nearly completed a wonderful season with Champions League glory, but Atletico lost to bitter rivals Real Madrid in the final last weekend.
As a result of his outstanding development in Spain, United are readying a £49m bid for the Spanish superstar, who's also made his country's preliminary World Cup squad, and is expected to make the final 23 as well.
Koke prides himself on his wonderful
technical ability with the ball at his feet, and the way he can slide teammates through on goal thanks to his exemplary vision and creative spark.
United badly need central midfield
improvements, although Koke can also be deployed further forward in attacking positions. His versatility, but mainly his ability to retain possession and create chances will no doubt delight new boss Louis van Gaal, who will take the reigns after the World Cup with Holland.
The Premier League side though can expect competition from Barcelona for his signature, who have recently stated their admiration for
Koke.
