EPL: Arsenal is active in transfer market

Emirates Stadium side look set for a very
busy summer.
Arsenal look set for a busy summer of
spending with the Daily Mail citing ten
targets on Arsene Wenger's shopping list.
Serge Aurier (Toulouse)
21 year old Ivory Coast international has
long been linked with a move to the north
London club ever since he was pictured
wearing an Arsenal shirt in a picture posted
on Twitter.
Aurier may well be seen as Arsene Wenger's
first choice candidate to replace exit bound
French veteran Bacary Sagna.
Atsuto Uchida (Schalke)
The 26 year old Japanese international is a
very attack minded full-back option and with
four Bundesliga seasons under his belt, as
well as a couple of Champions League
campaigns, the former Kashima Antlers man
could be a sensible Arsenal target.
Callum Chambers (Southampton)
The latest in a long line of young Saints
talents to have emerged in recent seasons
and the 19 year old certainly didn't look out
of place when he took part in 22 Premier
League appearances last season.
Arsene Wenger has happily brought in St
Mary's talents in the past, Theo Walcott and
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain making similar
moves, and appears keen on the tall right-
back.
Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona)
The 27 year old appears set for a Nou Camp
exit and Arsenal have not ruled out moving
to re-sign their former captain though such a
deal wouldn't come cheap.
The Spanish international came in for a fair
amount of criticism last term and was
seemingly a scapegoat for Gerardo Martino's
trophy-less season though it is worth noting
that Fabregas was the club's leading assist
maker.
The cultured midfielder made over 300
appearances for the Gunners in his previous
spell at the club.
Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton)
Another Southampton man who could leave
the south-coast side this summer and could
be the ideal man to offer Arsenal some much
needed steel in the centre of the park.
Having helped the Saints from League One
and back to the English top tier there is no
denying that the Frenchman has more than
proven himself at Premier League level and
the 24 year old may feel a high-profile move
could help to secure a first national team
call-up.
Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
Wenger has been a well known Benzema
admirer for many years, dating back to his
emergence at Lyon, and now may be the right
time to finally sign the forward.
Though the French international enjoyed a
great season at the Bernabeu last term,
finally becoming the club's out and out first
choice starter following Gonzalo Higuain's
sale to Napoli, there s much speculation of
Carlo Ancelotti's interest in Premier League
pair Luis Suarez and Sergio Aguero.
If the 26 year old feels undermined by the
prospect of a big name signing to challenge
for his starting spot then he could look to
call time on his five season spell in the
Spanish capital.
Benzema has racked up 111 goals in 235
appearances for Real Madrid since moving to
the La Liga side in July 2009.
Lars Bender (Bayer Leverkusen)
Bender has long been linked with a move to
the Emirates Stadium and despite helping his
BayArena side to a Champions League berth
on the last day of the Bundesliga season the
rangy midfielder could well be tempted to
join fellow countrymen Lukas Podolski, Per
Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.
A talented box to box performer may be a
target Wenger looks to bring in to challenge
Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere for a first
team berth, all the more pressing given both
players have suffered with injury concerns of
late.
Loic Remy (QPR)
The 27 year old French international had an
excellent season on loan at Newcastle
United last term, scoring 14 goals in 24
Premier League starts, but a move back to
Loftus Road is seemingly unlikely and the
chance to move to Arsenal could tempt the
former Marseille man.
Arsenal were at times overly dependent on
Giroud last term and the big forward's ability
to make a consistent impact in the Premier
League was certainly questioned at times.
Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid)
A more youthful striker signing option and a
player who is desperate for the chance of the
regular first team football he can't seem to
secure at the Bernabeu.
Morata is considered one of the hottest
prospects in Spanish football but a lack of
first team action has led to the player
considering his options. Last term the lethal
finisher made just six starts in all
competitions but still managed to notch up
nine goals.
Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich)
Croatian forward is almost certain to leave
the Allianz Arena following Bayern Munich's
acquisition of Borussia Dortmund goal
machine Robert Lewandowski.
The 27 year old is said to have been angered
by the move which he feels undermines his
efforts for the club over the past two
seasons, during which he has scored a
healthy 48 goals in 88 appearances.
