UCL: Can Bayern break Bernabeu record?
for their first win at the home of Real Madrid in six attempts.
The Bavarian giants will contest the first leg of their Champions League semi-
final tie against Carlo Ancelotti ’s side later on tonight.
Visitors Bayern have not won any of their past five matches at the Bernabeu ,
and that includes the 2010 Champions League final.
On that occasion, the German champions suffered a 2-0 defeat to Italian outfit
Inter Milan, then managed by Jose Mourinho , who is now at Chelsea.
Pep Guardiola ’s side have another piece of record against them: Madrid are
unbeaten in their last 17 home games in the Champions League.
However, the last time Los Blancos slipped up at the Bernabeu was back in the
2010-11 season, when they stumbled to a 2-0 defeat to Barcelona , then
coached by Guardiola.
The second leg of the semi-final tie will be staged at the Allianz Arena in
Munich next Tuesday.
