EPL: Ryan Giggs not "The Chosen One", to be given a role

Manchester United insist that Ryan Giggs
must stay at the club in some sort of
coaching role to ensure that continuity is
maintained within the club following
David Moyes’ failure as manager this
season.
With the club reluctant to offer Giggs the
chance to make his interim role
permanent due to his inexperience of
winning titles at the highest level in
Europe, a new manager is currently being
sought after with Netherlands national
team coach Louis van Gaal the current
favourite to be the next United manager.
It is not yet known whether Van Gaal
would be willing to keep Giggs on either
as a player or as part of his coaching
team, but it has been reported by The
Independent that negotiations with the 62-
year-old have hit a stumbling point over
the role that Giggs would assume.
The Welshman has been given the task of
leading United into their final four
matches of the season, with the veteran
midfielder getting his campaign off to a
perfect start via the 4-0 victory over
Norwich last weekend. His history with
the club plus his vast experience on the
pitch has led United’s executive to believe
Giggs is the perfect manager for the
future, but want the next appointment to
be someone with a proven track record in
Europe – something Giggs is said to agree
with.
