EPL: Wenger praises team
demonstrated the strength of their spirit
after a 3-0 victory over Newcastle United
tightened their grip on fourth spot.
A 3-0 defeat at Everton earlier this month
placed Arsenal's UEFA Champions League
prospects in doubt, with Roberto
Martinez's side gaining the upper hand in
the race for fourth.
However, Arsenal have responded to their
Goodison Park setback by winning three
games in a row and have also seen Everton
lose twice.
Arsenal are now four points clear of
Everton, with two games to play, and a
17th consecutive qualification for the
Champions League is within their grasp.
"We have gone through a difficult period,
and Goodison Park was one of them,"
Wenger told Sky Sports.
