EPL: Stamford Bridge hunts Daniel Sturridge

Stamford Bridge side look tempt Anfield ace
with massive pay-rise.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has been linked
with a myriad of potential striker targets in
recent months and now the Portuguese
manager is lining up an ambitious move to
re-sign Liverpool ace Daniel Sturridge.
CaughtOffside understands that Blues owner
Roman Abramovich will give his backing to a
£32m bid for the 24 year old, who left
Stamford Bridge for Anfield back in January
2013.

It's a sale that Mourinho has himself
questioned and will look to lure Sturridge
back to west London with a contract offer
that will see his earnings almost triple.
Sturridge currently earns in the region of
£70k a week having taken a pay-cut when
he left Chelsea for Merseyside and Liverpool
are set to open talks over a new deal in the
summer.
The in-form marksman will have noted Luis
Suarez securing a £200k a week deal and
may feel he deserves a deal similar to the
Uruguayan though his employers may be
reticent to offer the England international a
deal anywhere near that sum, which could
work in Mourinho's favour.
Chelsea have suffered as a direct result of
their current crop of strikers failing to
consistently deliver the goods but have still
managed to keep up their push for both
Premier and Champions League triumphs,
Mourinho knows therefore that the signing of
a lethal finisher is key.
Whilst Mourinho has chased the likes of
Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa and PSG's
Edinson Cavani he would ideally like to bring
in a player with proven Premier League
credentials, hence his previous interest in
Man United star Wayne Rooney, and is now
ready to make his interest in Sturridge
known.
Chelsea will offer Sturridge upwards of
£160k a week and the chance to be the
club's first choice striker which could prove
tempting for the Birmingham born ace who is
currently playing second fiddle to Suarez,
and a move back to the capital could tempt
the Liverpool man.
With Luis Suarez seemingly untouchable,
with Liverpool unlikely to consider any offers
for their prized asset, Chelsea may feel they
have a real chance of acquiring Sturridge, a
player who has proven hugely effective over
the past 16 months.
Since joining Liverpool in a £12m deal
Sturridge has netted a hugely impressive
